What is Cosmetic Tattooing?
Cosmetic Tattooing, also known as Semi-Permanent Makeup or Micropigmentation, is the process of implanting colour pigment beneath the surface of the skin by a tiny needle to produce the appearance of cosmetic makeup or to enhance the natural features of the face. VOGUE Beauty & Aesthetics currently only perform this treatment on eyebrows.
Does Cosmetic Tattooing Fade?
Cosmetic Tattooing is completely different to body art tattooing that will remain on your body forever. Cosmetic tattoos are completed using pigments, rather than inks. Pigments are made up of biodegradable materials such as metals and minerals that your body will break down over time. Everyones will fade at different rates and there is not a definite answer on how long your eyebrows will last. We advise a yearly top up.
Cosmetic Tattooing Healing Process
The healing process and aftercare leaflet will be given and explained in detail on the day of your treatment. We recommend dry healing which will mean you have to work around keeping your eyebrows completely dry for 7 days. This includes no water, products or sweat. It will be your responsibility to follow the aftercare advice to get the best result out of your treatment.
How long does Cosmetic Tattooing take?
We always book 3 hours in my diary for every clients first treatment. This 3 hours will not be constant tattooing.
Top up treatment times will vary.
What If I Don't Like My Brows?
On the day of your treatment we will have a consultation to Discuss what you would like to achieve. This will include Shape, colour, thickness and so much more. We will then spend a large amount of the treatment pre drawing your eyebrows taking all of this into consideration, along with what I believe will suit your face best. We will not start your eyebrows until you are completely happy with the pre draw and want to continue.
Does the Cosmetic Tattooing hurt?
Numbing agents are used throughout the treatment. Most clients don't feel any discomfort and if they do it is minimal. I cannot say this treatment is pain free as it is all down to the individual client and their pain threshold.
How Long Will My Brows Last?
Every clients brows retention will vary due to many factors such as skin type, sun exposure, activity levels, medical reasons, intensive facial treatments ect. On average most clients will get 9-18 months out of their treatment before needing a top up.
If you choose not to have a yearly top up your tattoo will eventually fade.
Does Everyone Need The 2 Treatments?
Every client will need to return for their second visit (top up appointment) to achieve the best result and complete the treatment and any small changes. In some cases some clients may have to return for a third visit. This may be because the client wishes to make some big changes to their eyebrows such as shape or colour. This also may be due to oily skin or medication. There will be an addition charge for a third visit.
